Haltrip–Monitor Airline of the Year 2019 poll set in motion
The eighth version of the frequent flyers’ opinion poll titled ‘Haltrip–Monitor Airline of the Year 2019' was officially launched today through a ceremony held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital. The event is aimed at recognising the airlines operating in Bangladesh for their services in different categories.
The opinion poll is organised by The Bangladesh Monitor, a premier travel fortnightly of the country. The leading online travel agency (OTA) Haltrip has joined the initiative as the Title Sponsor.
Leading global payments and technology company Mastercard, global distribution service (GDS) provider Travelport and premium hospitality property Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel are supporting the poll as the partners.
Airlines will be awarded in sixteen service categories. One who undertook minimum four air trips during 2019 will be eligible to vote for his/her preferred airline. Votes can be cast either by filling in a prescribed form or online at www.bangladeshmonitor.com/poll by November 15, 2019.
Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor of The Bangladesh Monitor, Tajbir Hasan, Managing Director of Haltrip, Daraz Mahmud, Executive Director and Regional Head - Bangladesh and Nepal of Travelport and Kazi Tanvir Hussain, Public Relations Manager of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, spoke at the launching ceremony.

The objective of Airline of the Year event is to create a healthy competition among the airlines for improvement of their services to meet the customers’ needs,” said Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor, The Bangladesh Monitor. “We invite all the frequent flyers to vote for their airline of choice, which will enable us to judge the popularity of airlines in different service categories.”

A competent and independent jury committee, representing different professional and social communities will analyse the travellers’ opinion and select the best airline in each category. The final result will be announced at a gala ceremony to be held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the third week of January next year.
