Hallmark Chairman Jasmin jailed for 3yrs
A Dhaka court on Wednesday sentenced Hallmark group chairman Jasmine Islam to three years imprisonment in a case filed for not submitting her wealth statement.
Special Judges Court-5 Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman handed down the verdict around 2:30pm in presence of Jasmine.
The court also fined her Tk 20 lakh.
Earlier on November 13 in 2013, the Anti-Corruption Commission issued a notice to Jesmin asking her to submit wealth statement.
Later, the ACC filed the case against her with Raman Police Station on December 12, 2013 as she did not submit the statement.
On October 22 of 2014, the ACC pressed charges against her.
