Govt slashes ISPP-JAWTNO Task cost by Tk 461cr after WB withdraws fund
The federal government on Tuesday decrease the cost of a project by Tk 460.87 crore following the World Bank withdrew $50 million fund citing failure in preserving loan conditions.
The project titled the "Income Assist Program for the Poorest (ISPP)-JAWTNO" was taken in 2015 with an try to transfer cash benefit to the women that are pregnant and moms with children below 5 years from the selected poorest households.
Mainly funded by the WB, the Local Government Division was likely to collect family members data from the National Household Database less than Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics by simply this year for implementing the project.
But failure by the BBS to complete the data source forced the WB to withdraw the fund obliging the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) to revise the job cost down from Tk 2,425.00 crore to Tk 1,962.74 crore at a gathering Tuesday.
