Gold bars worth Tk 24 lakh recovered from passenger's body
Customs intelligence officials recovered six gold bars, worth Tk 24 lakh, after searching the body of a passenger at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Saturday.
Ctg Customs House Assistant Commissioner Md Nur Uddin Milon said Jamal Uddin landed at the airport by an Air Arabia flight around 8am.
"His movement was suspicious and we challenged him. But he denied," he said.
Jamal was taken to a private hospital where an x-ray confirmed presence of something in his rectum.
Later, six gold bars were recovered after searching him, Nur Uddin said.
