Covered van hits microbus; kills 3
Three people were killed and two others injured when a microbus caught fire after being hit by a covered van in Mirsharai upazila of Chattogram on Tuesday morning.
The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.
Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence deputy assistant director Md Jashim Uddin said both the vehicles were heading towards Chattogram.
Suddenly, the microbus caught fire after being hit by a covered van from behind on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway around 7:30am, leaving three microbus passengers dead on the scene and two others wounded.
Members of Fire Service and Civil Defence rescued the two and sent them to a local hospital.
Mirsharai Police Station OC Jahidul Kabir said the fire might have originated from microbus's gas cylinder blast.
