Former UP member killed found in Bogura over 'extramarital affairs'
A past union parishad member was killed at Dhunat upazila in Bogura district on Saturday afternoon.
Deceased Abdul Khaleq, 55, was former UP person in Ward No. 1 under Gopalnagar union in the upazila.
Local sources said 1 co-villager farmer Rafiqul Islam, 42, hit Abdul Khaleq with an iron rod through window when he was sleeping at his house on Chakmehedi village on the afternoon.
Injured UP member was rushed to Dhunat Upazila Health and wellbeing Complex. Soon after, he was shifted to Bagura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical Hospital where he passed away around 6pm.
Locals suspect the incident occurred over extramarital affairs.
Dhunat Law enforcement Station officer in-demand (OC) Kripa Sindhu said Rafiqul was first arrested.
The reason behind the murder could be known after interrogating him, said the OC.
