First Mother Teresa Ratna award for Bangabandhu
Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be given posthumously the first Mother Teresa Ratna Award.
On the occasion of Mother Teresa's 108th birth anniversary, the committee chairman Anthony Arun Biswas announced the 19th International Mother Teresa Award at Satyajit Ray Auditorium in Kolkata on Sunday (August 26).
Arun Biswas said, “I gave me the first Mother Teresa Award to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Sonargaon Hotel in 2001. Then many prominent people came to Kolkata and received this award. We have decided to start the Mother Teresa Ratna Prize with Mother Teresa Award from 2019.
The Mother Teresa International Award is given to the great personalities who have excelled in the fields of Education, Culture, Music, Social Work, Sports, Industries, Media, Medicine, Administrator, best N.G.O. and Best Principal, Best Youth, Best School & College and Politics.
Every year the names for the International Award are announced by a 7 members committee of Intellectuals of the country.
