DHAKA: Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina advised her party leaders and workers to read the autobiography of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, ‘The Unfinished Memoirs’, and collected prose ‘The Diary of Prison’, to avail lessons on how to do politics for the welfare of people.

Sheikh Hasina was addressing a special extended meeting of Bangladesh Awami League at Ganabhaban Saturday (June 30).

The extended meeting was participated by grassroots level leaders of Awami League from Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Barisal.

“The Father of the Nation worked throughout his life for sake of the people of this country. (He) endured torture and oppression only to bring welfare to the people and the country,” she said.

“You too have to work for the betterment of the country developed upon his ideology. Only then it will be possible to construct the visionary ‘Sonar Bangla’,” she said to the party leaders and activists.

“You do read the write-ups of the Father of the Nation— Osomapto Atnojiboni (The Unfinished Memoirs) and Karagar-er Rojnamcha (The Diary of Prison). If you read these, you can learn the thoughts of the Father of the Nation on independence and welfare of the people and establishing a prosperous ‘Sonar Bangla’,” added the premier.

However, the first phase of the extended meeting was held on June 23, 2018. The next phase meeting of the grassroots level will be held on July 7, 2018.
