Fire at Dhaka slum
A fire broke out at Baunia slum under Turag Police Station in the capital Dhaka on Thursday morning.
Local people said the fire originated from a kitchen of the slum around 10am and soon engulfed the entire slum.
Kurmitola Fire Station senior officer Abdul Mannan said being informed, five firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire around 12:30pm after two hours of frantic efforts.
The fire might have originated from a stove of the slum, Abdul Mannan said.
