Ferry operations will stay suspended during the day: BIWTC
Zero ferries will ply on Paturia-Daulatdia and Shimulia-Banglabazar riverine routes throughout the day from today (Saturday) to avoid coronavirus transmitting, said Bangladesh Inland Drinking water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) in an order on Friday night time.

However, the ferries might ply during the night for transporting ambulances and goods carrying trucks and other vehicles.

BIWTC Chairman Syed Md Tajul Islam said the ferry businesses will stay completely suspended  through the daytime on Paturia-Daulatdia and Shimulia-Banglabazar routes to avoid coronavirus transmission.

He, however, said ferries will get operated during the night for crossing automobiles, ambulances and merchandise carrying trucks.
