Father stabbed to death by mentally challenged son
A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his mentally challenged son at Sombazar area in Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Hye, 60.
The victim's brother-in-law Abdul Alim said Hye's son Nokib Hasan Hridoy, 18, stabbed his father indiscriminately and also hit his head with a rod around 5:45am. Hridoy also hit his mother and elder brother Niloy with the rod as they tried to obstruct him.
Local people whisked off Hye to Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Abdul Alim said Hridoy is mentally sick for last five or four years.
Kaliganj Police Station in-charge Md Abu Bakr Miah said the body was sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital.
