Exhibition to depict Sufism & its philosophy
Shafi-Nur and Begum Gallery has organized the second International Sufi Art Exhibition at Begum Restaurant and Gallery in Panjora Bypass area at Ulukhala in Dhaka recently. The exhibition will continue till 11 November.
Shafi-Nur and Begum Gallery is a Sufi platform and organization for Sufi Art and poetry. The exhibition has been dedicated to Hazrat Khawaja Moinudeen Hasan Chisthy (ra.).
The exhibition was inaugurated by the legendary rock metal drummer Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu of a well known and prominent Band War Faze.
Artist Bina Sarkar Ellias, Editor and Publi-sher of International Gallery, from India, Shadab Shahrokh Hai, photographer, from Canada, Amin Rahman James, photographer and pilot, from England, Heidi Arc from Norway, Imran Zaib, New media 3d artist from Pakistan, Pia Sweeting- Multimedia artist, from Australia, Pipi deer, multimedia artist, from America, Nini Antenini from Australia, Roni Ahamed, artist and Philosopher from Banagladesh, Bishwajit Goswami, lecturer of Dhaka University, Aman Ullah, lecturer of Shanto Mariam University, Shaila Simi Nur, sufi artist from Bangladesh have participated in the exhibition.
This initiative has been taken in order to express the attitude of the Sufism-philosophy according to Sufis. There are two types of love - love for creation and for creator.
According to Sufi saints, God is the beloved of the lover (Mashook) and the Sufis think that love and devotion are the only means of reaching Allah! A Sufi truly understands this love! Artists know it very well because a Sufi is an Artist first. He is a true seeker, traveler of light.
