Eid train ticket sale begins
Bangladesh Railway on Monday began selling advance train tickets for Eid-ul-Azha from five different stations in Dhaka.

The authorities started the ticket sale for August 7 from nine counters at the station around 9:00am. They also began selling the ticket online and mobile app from 6:00am. 

Station Manager of Kamalapur Railway Station Aminul Haque told Banglanews that that the overall station here is fine. No one will be allowed to travel on train roof this time. 

About 1.5 lakh tickets for five days of Eid journey will be sold while fifty per cent of tickets will be sold online through the BR app, SMS and railway website, he added.

Advance tickets for intercity trains for August 8, 9, 10, and 11 would be sold on July 30 and 31 and August 1 and 2 respectively.

Advance tickets are being sold at different locations --Kamalapur, Airport, Tejgaon, Banani and old Rail Bhaban in Fulbaria-- in the capital to ease ticket-buying process for holidaymakers.

As usual, BR has arranged 8 pairs of special trains countrywide to ensure hassle-free journey. Special trains will be in service from 8 August to 11 August before Eid.

The scheduled trains have 26500 seats, 4 special trains have 3000 seats. In addition, a total of 1437 coaches will be added on occasion of Eid.
