EC for incorporating EVM use in 11th JS polls
The Election Commission (EC) has decided to incorporate the use of electronic voting machine (EVM) in the upcoming 11th parliamentary elections.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said it to reporters after a meeting on the amendment draft of Representation of the People Order (RPO) in secretariat on Thursday (August 30).
The draft will be sent to the Law Ministry first and then to parliament for final approval. Once the draft is passed, procedure for adding EVM will begin.
On the other hand, the final session of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad will begin on September 9 when the amendment draft might be passed.
