Earliest woman appointed boss of a Wall structure Street bank
Citigroup has named a woman to be it has the new chief executive in an initial for a Wall Road bank.

Briton Jane Fraser, its recent president and brain of global buyer division, is to be its new boss when recent chief Michael Corbat retires found in February.

He is stepping straight down after 37 years at the bank, including eight as leader.

It comes as the male-dominated world folks finance faces pressure to diversify its ranks, BBC reported.

Scotland-born Ms Fraser spent some time working at Citi for 16 years, serving on her current role since 2019. She oversees organization in 19 countries and previously led its Latin America division.

Seen as a growing star, she was recently considered for the part of chief executive for Wells Fargo, another leading US bank.

The chair of Citi's board of directors, John Dugan, said Ms Fraser would take the lender "to another level".
