'Do not use children in election campaigns'
Voluntary organization `Foundation for Children’ asked the political parties not to use children in election campaigns.
Members of the organization arranged a human chain with their face covered with black clothes in front of National Press Club in Dhaka on Wednesday.
They put up their three-point demand to the politicians and candidates. The demands are-
1. Don’t use children in election campaigns, procession and rallies.
2. Don’t use children for election work, like pasting posters, hanging festoon and banner and leaflet delivery.
3. Ensure safety of children in election time. Maintain Children Act-2013 in political activities.
Foundation for Children chairman Mueed Hasan Torit lamented that news on using children in the election campaign and election works was published in media previous years also.
Foundation coordinators Sajib Khan, Sheikh Mehedi Hasan Nayan, Mohammad Ibrahim, and Mohammad Kanan were present in the human chain.
