Diddy does not give up and makes a surprise move as evidence mounts against him

Sean "Diddy" Combs has gone from releasing #1 albums to being a top target of federal authorities. The 54-year-old founder of Bad Boy Records is facing serious charges amidst a wave of civil lawusits and alleged criminal activity; he has been charged with racketeering, sex trafficking by force, and transportation (kidnapping) for purposes of prostitution in a widely-publicized federal indictment.

Sean "Diddy" Combs, facing serious charges including racketeering and sex trafficking, makes a third attempt for bail as prosecutors argue he's a flight risk. Despite his plea of innocence, the likelihood of his release remains slim.

In this early stage of the process, Combs -- who is being held without bail in a New York detention facility -- faces many years in prison, but he is not giving hope of seeing the light of day again, even though the allegations against him are heinous.

Diddy tries again to leave jail
As the saying goes, the third time is the charm...although Diddy faces long odds to get out of Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center on bail pending trial. Nevertheless, the disgraced hip-hop

mogul's legal team has made a third request for Diddy to be released on $50 million bail. The rapper is asking an appeals court to review the judge's order to hold him without bail, but he has an uphill battle in front of amid the gravity of the charges.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to the three charges that have been unsealed against him, and he is refusing to take a plea deal. One of Diddy's attorneys, Marc Agnifilo, said his client maintains his innocence for the time being -- and Combs is motivated to prove "that a Black man can win in federal court".

However, federal prosecutors have determined that Diddy "remains a serious risk of flight" given his $1 billion net worth and international profile, and they also believe that he "poses a significant risk of obstructing justice" in the case against him. Those factors make it likely that this appeal will be just as fruitless as the first two, as Diddy's case motors steadily toward a high-profile trial.
