'Debi' hits 20 cities in US
'Debi - Misir Ali Prothombar,' starring Jaya Ahsan and Chanchal Chowdhury, has been released in United States' San Francisco on November 3 and also in Washington DC, Virginia, Austin, Dallas and New York on November 4.
According to a recent press statement by the film's lead cast and producer, Jaya Ahsan, the film will be released in a total of 20 theatres across US. Bioscope is distributing the hyped screen adaptation of Humayun Ahmed's novel of the same title from his famous Misir Ali series in US.
Jaya also said: "Gradually the film will be released in more theatres across more cities in US. We have received theatre booking list till December 15 and the film will be screened in 20 cities by this time period." Moreover, in this week alone the film will screen in a total of 50 theatres across United States of America.
The film was initially released in 28 theatres across Bangladesh on October 19. On the second week, it was released in 35 theatres more and 50 more theatres started to screen the film from its third week, starting from November 2.
The film, funded by the Bangladesh government film grant, was co-produced by debutant producer Jaya Ahsan's production company C Te Cinema and distributed by Jaaz Multimedia. Apart from Jaya and Chanchal, the film 'Debi' stars Iresh Zaker, Animesh Aich, and Sabnam Faria in major roles.
