The programme featured a procession, discussion and more. Sammilita Sangskritik Jote president Ghulam Quddus presided over the event.Honorary president of International Theatre Institute Ramendu Majumdar, cultural activist and freedom fighter Nasiruddin Yusuff and others spoke on the occasion.

'The sports clubs of Dhaka city have been turned into illegal casinos. It is a matter of great concern because it is a bad influence for the younger generation. A vested quarter is trying to mislead the on-going drive against casinos. However, the mass people do not support gambling of any kind.

I urge the cultural activists to organize various cultural programs and campaigns for raising awareness,' said Ramendu Majumdar.'Drugs are not only available in the capital but also in the rural areas. Corruption is now taking place in all walks of life.

This cannot continue and the government, administration and law enforcement agencies should take responsibility.  If these anomalies continue, our upcoming generations will face a dire situation.  We have to stand against corruption. On behalf of the cultural organizations I congratulate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for conducting drives on the illegal casinos.

We demand highest punishment for those who are involved in running these casinos,' said Nasiruddin Yusuff. 'We were completely unaware that casinos were operating in Dhaka under the shelter of political leaders.

These on-going drives against illegal casinos across the country have been welcomed by the mass people. I urge the government and law enforcement agencies to award the culprits exemplary punishment,' said Ghulam Quddus.
