CUET closed; Students asked to vacate halls
The authorities have declared Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) closed for 21 days till August 27 considering students' security during the ongoing movement of the students.

The holiday will come into effect from Tuesday, said a press release issued by Registrar Professor Farruque-uz-Zaman Chowdhury.

The release also said that the male students have been asked to vacate their dormitories by 5pm on Tuesday and the female ones by 10am on Wednesday.

The decision was taken at a meeting, led by university Vice-Chancellor Md Rafiqul Alam. faculty deans, director, departmental heads, chairmen of centres and the hall provosts were also present.

After the meeting, the VC told the media that the vacation for Eid-ul-Azha has been declared well ahead considering the students' safety during the ongoing students movement.

Meanwhile, CUET students brought out a procession this morning after boycotting their classes for the third consecutive day.
