Court orders to seize assets of 8 fugitive accused
A court in Barguna has ordered to confiscate the assets of eight fugitive accused in sensational Rifat Sharif murder case.
Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Sirajul Islam Gazi passed the order on Thursday.
The eight accused are: Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, Md Musa, Rakibul Hasan Rifat Hawlader (juvenile), Abu Abdullah Rayhan, Md Naim, Rakibul Hasan Niamat, Sayeed Maruf Billah and Prince Mollah.
The court also rejected the bail petitions of Rakibul Hasan Rifat Farazi and Rezwan Ali Khan alias Tiktok Hridoy.
At the same time, the court sent the bail petitions of three juvenile accused to juvenile court.
Lawyer Mujibul Haque Kislu said the seven accused were produced before the court today.
Slain Rifat's wife Minni and Arian Hossain Srabon, who are now on bail, were also present in the court.
Rifat Sharif, 22, was hacked to death by criminals in front of his wife Minni in broad daylight in the district town on June 26. The incident was caught on surveillance camera.
