‘Conductor’ behind steering when Abrar killed
The conductor of the bus of  'Suprovat Paribahan' was driving the vehicle when it ran over Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) student Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury at Pragati Sarani on March 19.

Additional commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police Md Abdul Baten informed this at a press briefing on Wednesday.

Earlier, detectives arrested bus conductor Yasin Arafat and helper M Ibrahim Chandpur and Dhaka on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning respectively.

Abdul Baten said on March 19, the same bus departed from Victoria Park at about 6am hit Sinthiya Sultana Mukta, a student of Mirpur Ideal Girls' College, in Banshtala area, leaving her critically injured. 

Following the accident, bus passenger caught driver Sirajul Islam and handed him over to police.
 
Apprehending the damage of the bus by angry mob, conductor Yasin took the steering on the owner's instruction and drove the vehicle to a safer place.

On the way, the bus ran over Abrar at Basundhara Gate in Norda and the conductor fled the scene. 

The police additional commissioner also said that Sirajul was detained and taken on remand as police first assumed that he ran over Abrar.

The incident became clear following the arrest of Yasin and Ibrahim.
