College student found dead in Gulshan flat, case filed
A woman has been found hanging in the flat in city's Gulshan area.
Deceased Mosarat Jahan Muniya, a school student, hailed from Cumilla. She used to live alone in the flat. Her members of the family lives in Cumilla.
Muniya's elder sister visited the flat on Monday evening and found the entranceway locked.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body breaking open the entranceway.
The victim had called her sister Nusrat Jahan in Cumilla on Sunday and said she was in big trouble. On that basis, Nusrat Jahan found Dhaka on Monday and reached her sister's flat at night.
Nusrat filed a case with Gulshan Police Station during the night, Sudeep Kumar Chakrabarti, deputy commissioner of Gulshan division, confirmed this at 3am.
bdnews.com adds: In a case filed with the authorities, Muniya's elder sister Nusrat Jahan has accused the managing director of a leading company in Bangladesh of instigating her to commit suicide.
Muniya was thought to have a relationship with the businessman. “We learned that the man used to visit her apartment,” the authorities officer said.
Police have confiscated CCTV footage from the scene and the digital devices used by Muniya. Her body has been kept in the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
