C’Nawabganj man gets life in drug case
A man was sentenced to life in prison by a district court in a drug case.
Judge Md. Shakot Ali of district and sessions judge’s court of Chapai Nawabganj delivered the verdict on Sunday (August 4).
The court also fined him Taka 1 lakh. In default, one year of imprisonment will be applicable.
The convict Kalu Member, 55, was a resident of Baro Rashia village of Chapai Nawabganj Sadar Upazila.
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Kalu Member with 1 kg and 550 grams of heroin in a drive conducted at his house on 20 October of 2017, Anjuman Ara, additional public prosecutor (APP) of the court, told Banglanews.
The following day, RAB filed a case under narcotics act with Sadar police station.
