China returnee crews being barred to enter other countries
The foreign countries have declined to allow entry to Bangladeshi pilots, who went to China to bring 312 Bangladeshis, said Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam.
As a result, they are unable to operate flights on international routes, Khandker Anwarul Islam also said at a news briefing at Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday (February 3).
He said that discussion was going on with the Chinese government over the return of those 171 persons, adding that Chinese government has assured that they would not send affected Bangladeshis.
“We were supposed to bring back 316 Bangladeshis from China. But the Chinese government did not allow four of them to leave as they had been suffering from high fever,” he said.
He said that of the 312 people, eight were taken to hospitals and the remaining ones have been kept in quarantine for 14 days.
But, he said, the eight persons were not diagnosed with the coronavirus.
