Bus supervisor remanded over raping disabled girl in Tangail
A district court on Tuesday (Sep 4) placed Ershad, a bus supervisor who was arrested yesterday in a case filed over the rape of a disabled girl in Tangail, into four-day remand.
Tangail senior judicial magistrate Md Ashiquzzaman passed the remand order after police produced Ershad before court seeking 5-day remand.
Earlier on Thursday midnight, a police patrol team was informed by a night guard that he heard a woman screaming in the Bangabandhu Bridge East bus stand. Police quickly rushed to the scene and rescued the victim from a parked bus and detained helper Nazmul.
On the next day, sub-inspector (SI) Nur-e-alam, as plaintiff, filed a case against bus driver Alam Khandakar for raping the disabled woman and helper Nazmul for assisting the rape. Later, Nazmul in his confessional statement, said bus supervisor Ershad was also involved in the matter.
