Bus driver sent to jail for crushing cop in Dhaka
A Dhaka court has sent driver Belal Hossain to jail in a case filed over the death of a policeman by an Eagle Paribahan bus in city’s Mirpur area yesterday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas passed the order on Monday (Sep 3) after probe officer of the case SI khokon Chandra produced the driver before court seeking detention.
However, no lawyer moved for the defendant in court.
Earlier on September 2, Uttam Kumar, a sub-inspector of Rupnagar police station, was killed as an Eagle Paribahan bus crushed his motorbike in Mirpur area of Dhaka on Sunday afternoon (September 2).
