‘Boyfriend’ charged with hacking class VIII girl to death in Ctg
A case was filed accusing a young man of hacking his girlfriend to death in Patiya upazila of Chittagong.
Police recovered the blood-smeared body of Rima Akter, 15, from Beltola area of the upazila Saturday (September 8). Her 25-year-old boyfriend Masud was also found lying besides with severe injuries.
Daughter of Manjurul Alam in Mohajon Para, Rima was studied in class-eight at Patiya’s Haindgaon High School.
Several witnesses told Banglanews that Masud murdered the girl by knifing and tried to kill self too. He was rescued from the spot and admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
Rima’s father Manjurul Alam, as a plaintiff, filed a case around 11pm, naming Masud the prime accused.
“Masud is now undergoing treatment under police custody at CMCH”
“It has been confirmed in primary investigation that Masud has killed the girl with a knife over love matters,” Patia Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Awal told Banglanews.
