Police have learnt that a bomb like object which was lying on the footpath in Bangabandhu Square in Gulistan in the administrative centre had not been an explosive. The thing covered with red scotch tape was loaded with brick chips and sand. 

It was learnt following the bomb disposal unit of police visited the spot on Saturday night and examined the thing.

Earlier, the law enforcers surrounded Gulistan crossing and adjoining areas from 8:30 during the night suspecting the thing a bomb. Panic got also spread among persons living in nearby areas if they learnt a bomb-like object was lying on the footpath.

Police believed that someone had still left the bomb-like object found in the area deliberately.

It really is learnt that the bomb-like object first came to the focus of traders for the reason that area. When persons came to know about it, panic pass on in the region quickly. Later, Paltan Law enforcement Station was informed. Quickly, several law enforcement teams reached the area. In those days, movement of men and women and plying of vehicles in the area were limited. Afterward, a bomb disposal product of police was named in. They went there time after 10:00pm.

After examining, the members of the bomb disposal unit said the bomb-like object was not an explosive. It was filled up with brick chips and sans.

Paltan Law enforcement Station officer-in-demand Sentu Mia said a good grenade like object was made cutting water bottle. Then it had been loaded with brick chips and sand. A power wire was placed in it. It had been exactly appeared as if a bomb. The DMP's bomb disposal product learnt that it had been not a bomb after arriving at the spot. Someone achieved it deliberately.

He said the problem became normal and calm following the bomb disposal product of police had left the place.
