BNP leader Mizanur detained
Police have detained BNP central executive committee member Major (retd) Mizanur Rahman from his Gulshan residence in the capital early Tuesday.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) deputy commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman confirmed this on Tuesday noon.

He said that a team of police raided Mizanur's house early hours and arrested him with some electronic devices those he planned to use to make the Gazipur election controversial.

Meanwhile, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that law enforcers swooped on Mizanur's house and took him away around 3am by breaking open the door, reports UNB.

"We strongly condemn and protest the arrest in such a manner," Rizvi said.
