BNP engaged on arson to create by-polls questionable: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Mon said BNP has completed the recent arson attacks on buses on your day of the by elections to help make the polls questionable and malign the federal government.

“There is no reason to create fire to buses. But why does they do so? It was to make the election questionable if they are not receiving votes of the persons and lost public confidence,” she told Parliament.

The Primary Minister made these remarks in answer BNP MP Harunur Rashid’s demand for formation of a parliamentary body to find out who were behind the recent arson attack on several buses in the administrative centre.

Sheikh Hasina said when several parliamentary by-elections were being held they all of an abrupt set several buses burning and are shifting blame on the federal government.

“We’re in ability. As to why our authorities earns a bad name by establishing fires to buses. Besides, it really is our duty to make sure security to the people,” she said.

Thanks to technological advancement, those people who are setting fire are being caught red handed while there are CCTVs in every places. It is very clear who had been behind the arson strike, she said adding there are images of the culprits in her hand.

Several people from their procession were seen setting fire to buses with a gas lighter, she continued.

About the BNP’s participation in the election, Sheikh Hasina said “My question is if they are taking part in the election at all.” They are spending nominations but they haven't any marketing campaign or offer polling brokers properly. She advised the BNP take on the election seriously.
