Bangladeshi youth shot by ‘BSF’ in Chapainawabganj dies
A Bangladeshi young man, who was shot allegedly by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Jahurpur Tek border in Chapainawabgaj Sadar upazila on Wednesday, died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Fatik, 30, a cattle trader, son of Abdul Latif of Sundarpur Bogdanga village in the upazila, reports UNB.

Victim's brother Shahidul Islam Fitu said BSF members from Pirojpur camp opened fire on Fatik around 11pm on Wednesday while when along with other cattle traders was retuning with cattle, leaving the youth injured.

Fellow traders rescued the injured and later he was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Thursday where the youth died in the early hours of Friday, he added.

Border Guard Bangladesh Battalion-53 Deputy Commander Major Ekhlasur Rahman said they held a flag meeting with BSF on Friday morning when they protested the firing on the Bangladeshi cattle trader.

However, BSF denied shooting Fatik, he said.
