Bangladesh, Afghanistan announced joint champions
The trophy of the T20I tri-nation series was shared by both Bangladesh and Afghanistan as the both sides were announced joint champions following the abandonment of the final match due to rain at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday night.
Earlier, the start of the final match of the tri-nation series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan was delayed due to rain.
The match was called off at 9:05 pm due to wet outfield without a ball being bowled.
The two teams shared the trophy as no reserve day was allocated for any of the matches in the series as per the rules for the tournament.
This is the first time for the Tigers being a multi-team tournament champions in Mirpur after losing all the three previous finals.
