Australian PM sends letter to Sheikh Hasina
Australia's newly elected Prime Minister Scott Morrison expressed his satisfaction over the bilateral relations between the two countries in a letter sent to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Foreign ministry sources confirmed details about the letter Thursday (September 13).
In the letter, Australian PM said, “Trade between the two countries increased 11 percent last year. Two countries are working together to combat terrorism and militancy. Besides, 49 thousand Bangladeshi expatriates are playing a role in the development of Australia.”
Praising Bangladesh’s role in tackling the Rohinga crisis, Australia PM has promised $70 million as assistance for this crisis.
Australian premier also hoped for better bilateral relations between the two countries in future.
