Apparel exports rise! Cotton yarn and cloth exports witness slide
Apparel exports have increased and cotton yarn/fabric exports possess slumped! This is exactly what the CITI research of Exports of T&A for July 2019 says.

Further on a single, Sanjay K. Jain, Chairman, CITI, said that instant estimates of Exports of T&A for the said period present that exports of cotton yarn and fabric have fallen by 9.98 % and 10.54 per cent, respectively, year-on-year (y-o-y) and cumulative basis (see Table 1).

Sanjay added that the modification in the styles of outfits and cotton yarn/fabrics is due to the Rebate of Express and Central Taxes and Levies (RoSCTL) scheme that was announced by the Government back in March 2019 for the apparels and made-ups.

RoSCTL scheme was introduced to supply reimbursement of central and state taxes to make sure taxes are not exported together with the products.

Since, yarn and textile segments were kept out from the same, both sectors are in present suffering badly and exports will be declining, while others that RoSCTL is granted possess shown growth.

It is pertinent to notice that some types like cotton yarn have seen a y-o-y fall of 35 per cent in exports in the first one fourth of the financial 12 months, while in June only, it had been at an astounding 50 % low.

The CITI Chairman has urged the Hon’ble Primary Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji and the federal government of India to extend the benefits associated with currently announced RoSCTL to the yarn and fabric segments aswell.

He said this can help the textile industry rise its export competitiveness found in the international markets.
