'Akash Tori' joins Biman's fleet
A whole new Dash 8-400 aircraft has been put into the Biman Bangladesh Airlines fleet on Wednesday evening.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself named the aircraft seeing that 'Akash Tori.'

The aircraft, departed for Bangladesh from De Haviland Bombardier Aerospace, a Canadian aircraft producer, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal AIRPORT TERMINAL in Dhaka at about 5:45pm on Wednesday.

Condition Minister for Civil Aviation Mahbub Ali received it formally in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Md Mokammel Hossain, Biman Bangladesh Airlines Chairman Md Sajjadul Hasan, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md Mofidur Rahman, and Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director and CEO Md Mokabbir Hossain, amongst others, were present.

The Biman procured the three Dash 8-400 aircraft under the G2G (government-to-government) agreement between the Bangladesh and Canadian governments.

Before, the national flag carrier received the first of all Dash 8-400 aircraft out of three made by De Havilland Aircraft of Canada, a prominent aircraft-maker of the UNITED STATES country.

The Dash 8-400 aircraft has eco-friendly and state-of-the-art facilities.

The quantity of Biman's aircraft is currently 19, including four Boeing 777-300ER, four Boeing 787-8, two Boeing 787-9, six Boeing 737 and three Dash 8-400. With the addition of the new Dash plane, the quantity of Biman's aircraft will get raised to 20.
