'Affordable Autumn'
An exclusive art exhibition featuring works by renowned and upcoming local and Indian artists is under way at Galleri Kaya in Uttara. The exhibition amasses prints, watercolor works and drawings and is designed to inspire art lovers and art enthusiasts to collect art at an affordable price. 

Fittingly titled 'Affordable Autumn', the exhibition features a total of 93 works done in watercolor, etching, aquatint, lithograph, woodcut, linocut, wood engraving, intaglio, serigraph, plate lithograph, photo etching and unique pressure print on paper.

The artists include Abul Barq Alvi, Aditya Basak, Ahmed Shamsuddoha, Ajit Seal, Amitabha Banerjee, Anisuzzaman, Ashraful Hasan, Atin Basak ,  Atul Dodiya, Badri Narayan, Chanchal Ganguly, Chandra Bhattacharje, Chandra Shekhar Dey, Didarul Hossain Limon, Fahad Uddin, Goutam Chakraborty, Jamal Ahmed, Jayanta Naskar, Jogen Chowdhury, Kamaluddin, Kamrul Khan, Kazi Rakib, KG Subramanyan, Krishen Khanna, Lalu Prasad Shaw,Manoj Dutta, Mohammad Iqbal, Monaj Mitra, Monirul Islam, Murtaja Baseer, Muslim Mia, Nagarbasi Barman, Niranjan Pradhan, Pankaj Panwar, Partha Dasgupta, Prabhakar Kolte, Pradip Maitra,  Rafi Haque, Rafiqun Nabi,  Ramendra Nath Kastha,  Ranjit Das,  Ratan Mojumder, Rokeya Sultana, Ruhul Amin Tarek, Sanat Kar, Shahanoor Mamun, Sheikh Afzal Hossain,  Sheikh Md Rokonuzzaman, Shishir Bhattacharjee, Shohag Parvez, Suhas Roy and Sujit Sarker.

To mention a few works, Aditya Basak's etching painting titled 'X-1' shows a mask-like face of a man placed against a square background. On the surface of the mask there appears lines and various alphabets while the edges of the mask take black. Ahmed Shamsuddoha's linocut painting titled 'She' shows the profile of a woman in a sari. The girl's face and the spaces around it are filled with white dots while the background remains black all over.

Anisuzzaman's linocut painting titled 'Tagore' shows a profile of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Atin Basak's untitled tempera on paper work shows a colorful bird set against nature.

The sky is moonlit which creates a romantic ambiance. Jamal Ahmed's lithograph painting titled 'Love' shows two birds sitting on a wall. Though the feathery creatures are rendered with precision, they are set against a flat ochre background. The exhibition will remain open till November 3.
