Additional class teachers' sit-in enters 2nd day
The sit-in programme of the additional class teachers (ACT) entered the second straight day on Monday.

The sit-in started at 10.00 am in front of the city's National Press Club.

Bangladesh Additional Class Teachers Association (BACT) began the sit-in on Sunday for an indefinite period demanding their job regularization.

Leaders of the association have threatened to continue the protest until their demand is fulfilled.

BACT president Koushik Chandra Barman alleged that two days have passed since they began the programme, but no one from the Education Ministry contact them.

“We want to go back to schools on receiving the letter of job permanent. The Ministry of Education is ignoring the suggestions given by the Prime Minister's Office in this regard,” Barman said.

The government with the help of the World Bank appointed 6,000 teachers under SEQAEP project in 64 remote upazilas in the country.
