AC Rabiul's mother expresses satisfaction
The family of assistant police commissioner (AC) Rabiul Karim, who was killed in gruesome attack at Holey Artisan Cafe in 2016, has expressed their satisfaction over the verdict.
Rabiul's mother Karimun Nessa said "We have been waiting for three years for this day. I want the immediate execution of the verdict. It's my will to die after seeing the execution of this verdict".
Rabiul's brother Shamsuzzaman Shams also expressed his satisfaction while talking to media on Wednesday, just after pronouncing the verdict in the case.
They said "We are satisfied over the judgement. The verdict proved that on one is beyond law."
An anti-terrorism special tribunal in Dhaka sentenced seven accused to death in Gulshan's Holey Artisan Cafe attack case, while acquitted one.
Militants killed 20 innocent people, most of them foreigners, in the grisly attack in Holey Artisan Bakery in city's upscale Gulshan area on July 1, 2016. Two police officials valiantly laid down their lives while trying to save people there.
Later, five militants were killed in a commando operation.
