96 criminals surrender in Cox's Bazar
A total of 96 criminals gave up their arms and surrendered to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan in Cox's Bazar on Saturday.

The criminals, including members of different pirates and robbers gangs and terrorists, in Moheshkhali, Kutubdia, Pekua and Chakaria surrendered their weapons--155 locally-made firearms and 273 bullets-- before the Home Minister at a programme.

The programme was held in Klarmarchhara Govt Primary School in Maheshkhali.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary was also present in the program.

The families of 96 people were given Tk 50,000 each from the government. 

On October 20, 2018, 43 pirates laid down their firearms before the Home Minister. At that time, they were given Tk one lakh each by the government.
