6 bodies recovered from Cox's Bazar Sugandha beach
Police recovered six bodies from a fishing trawler when it was drifting along Sugandha point of Cox's Bazar sea beach on Wednesday morning (July 10).
Police believed all the deceased were fishermen. The names of the deceased were not known.
“Report of a wrecked a fishing trawler, floating in Sugandha point at 3 am, came to police. Later, members of tourist police went to the spot and found four bodies floating around the boat. Two more bodies were found on the boat,” Cox's Bazar tourist police's ASP Fakhrul Karim told Banglanews.
“It is assumed that the trawler was wrecked by the storm while catching fish in the sea. It is not confirmed yet whether it is from Bangladesh or Myanmar. However, many of the locals think it could be a trawler from Myanmar,” he said.
