Health and Relatives Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said there is absolutely no shortage of oxygen seeing that the government offers around 900 tonnes of oxygen in stock officially for tackling Covid-19 situation.

He likewise said presently the country includes a daily oxygen production potential of 220 to 230 tonnes.

The minister was addressing as the principle guest at a discussion held nearly on 'Public-private preparation and emergency oxygen management when confronted with second wave of Covid-19' organised by Bangladesh Private Medical Association on Thursday.

Zahid Maleque has stated the country currently requires 70 to 80 tonnes of oxygen for standard and covid patients.
