Govt 'fully prepared' to tackle 2nd wave of Covid-19: Health Minister
The federal government is "fully prepared" to tackle the second wave of Covid-19, said Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque on Sunday.
Addressing a gathering on "Shasthyo Surokhsha Karmasuchi" at the medical Ministry's conference room in the afternoon, he said, "Efforts have been continued. The dedicated hospitals will work for coronavirus patients as usual."
The Health Minister said, "The government has been providing the best services to the persons during this corona pandemic. Due to this fact, mass people of the united states have benefitted."
He also informed that there is no crisis of personal protective equipment (PPE).
"The procedure in government hospitals has been made free for all in parallel to charging nominal costs for tests," the minister also said.
MEDICAL Minister said the federal government has spent Tk 15,000 for regular Covid-19 patients and Tk 47,000 for Covid-19 patients in ICU beds on the average.
Mentioning the recent government announcement -- "No Mask, No Service" -- he said, "There will be a massive campaign soon to improve health awareness to tackle coronavirus."
Secretary of medical Services Division Abdul Mannan, Director General of Medical Directorate Prof ABM Khurshid Alam, and other high ups of the ministry were present at the meeting, amongst others.
