73 rooms of Savar worker's colony gutted
At least 73 rooms of three workers' colony Savar municipal area were gutted in a fire early Monday.
Workers said the fire originated in the room of trader Khokon from an electric short circuit around 2:30am and soon spread out.
Being informed, three fire fighting units rushed to the scene and doused the blaze after two-and-a-half hours of frantic efforts.
None was injured in the fire but cash money, gold ornaments and other valuable goods were burnt in the fire.
Witnesses said Khokon's room was locked as he went to his village home.
