5 to die for Toyon murder in Khulna
Five persons were sentenced to death for killing Kazi Tasfin Hossain Toyon, 32, in Khalishpur area of Khulna city on 2018.
Besides, two others were acquitted in the event.
Khulna Divisional Speedy Trial Tribunal judge Md Nazrul Islam Hawlader issued the verdict on Sunday (March 8).
The four convicts are--Kazi Murad Hossain, Saiful Islam Gazi, Kazi Rowonkul Islam and Forhad Hossain. Another convict Jakir Hossain continues to be on the run.
Kazi Sabbir Hossain Fahim and Kazi Masum were acquitted in the event.
On August 28, 2018, Toyon went missing and his father Kazi Ferdous Hossain filed a case with Khalishpur law enforcement station on September 8, 2019.
Police arrested Saiful. According to Saiful's facts, the three others were arrested and the body of Toyon recovered.
