4.24 acres land recovers from Zafarullah’s possession
The claimant Mohammad Ali forcibly came in the possession of the land on Saturday just five days after a case was filed over encroachment of 4.24 acres of land allegedly by Gonoshasthya Kendra founder Dr Zafarullah Chowdhury, 

The claimant occupied the land forcibly along with his men and constructed a boundary wall abutting the land, UNB reports.

On Monday night, the one Mohammad Ali, a resident of Harirampur upazila in Manikganj, filed a case accusing Zafrullah and three other named and three to four unnamed persons with the same police station allegedly for attempting to grab a piece of land and demanding extortion.

According to the case statement, the alleged have long been trying to occupy a 4.24-acare land, owned by Mohammad Ali, at Pathalia union. They threatened and put pressure on Mohammad Ali in a bid to grab the land, and demanded Tk 1 crore from him as extortion.

However, on Friday another case has been filed against Gonoshasthya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury on charges of occupying a land and demanding extortion.

Local individual, Hasan Imam filed the case accusing Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, 85, registrar of Gono University Delwar Hossain, 57, Gonoshasthya Kendra director Saiful Islam Sishir, 55, and Aulad Hossain, 48, with Ashulia Police Station on Friday, said its officer-in-charge Rizaul Haque Dipu.
