4 Bangladeshi students wins bronze in Int’l Physics Olympiad
Four Bangladeshi students have won four bronze medals in International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) - 2018.
A total of 447 students from 87 countries took part in the 49th ceremony that begun on July 21 while winners were announced on Saturday (July 28) in Lisbon, Portugal.
The winners are Abrar Al Sadid Abir from Chattogram College, Irtiza Eram and Tahmid Mosaddek from Notre Dame College, and Rashedul Islam from Motijheel Ideal School and College in Dhaka.
Confirming it, Jubaer Kabir Tusher, consular assistant at Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut, congratulated the Bangladesh team saying, "Bangladesh is being ready for the future.", reports UNB.
Congratulating them, coach of Physics Olympiad teamProf Dr Arshad Momen in his Facebook post said, "Special congratulations to Irtiza Eram for making a perfect score for IPhO. We're moving forward."
It's a very important achievement for the country, he added.
Bangladesh has been participating IPhO since 2011. Last year, the country won a silver medal along with three bronze and one honourary medal.
