368 life-sentenced prisoners to get release
Residence Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Tuesday said that the procedure of releasing 368 life-sentenced prisoners is underway.
He was giving an answer to a query of reporters at the Secretariat in the capital.
In 22 years, 30 years of imprisonment have already been completed. Previously, the jail authorities acquired given a list of a lot more than 1,600 prisoners who had been sentenced to 30 years. But in the last 5 to 7 years, no one has been released. Based on the Jail Code, these prisoners contain completed their punishment, the Home Minister said.
He said the Prime Minister includes a directive not to let go 'rapists and brutal murderers'. "Keeping the directive at heart - we have examined the dossiers of the prisoners and made a decision to launch 368 prisoners.
