20 go missing after boat capsizes in Ashulia
At least 20 people went missing as a boat carrying around 50 passengers capsized in the Turag River in Ashulia of Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, on Friday night.
The boat sank in the river in Rustampur area around 8:00pm after being hit by a sand-laden cargo, said sources in Ashulia Fire Service and Civil Defense.
Out of 50 passengers, rest 30 managed to swim ashore, said the fire service duty officer Mizanur Rahman.
Fire service personnel and divers are working to rescue the missing people, Mizanur added.
