11 doping, mugging gang members held in Savar
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained 11 alleged members of ‘Ogyan party’ and robbery gang in Savar upazila of Dhaka district on Monday night.
Detainees are Rabiul Islam Rabi,55, Roman Hossain,27, Toufikul Islam Rana ,36, Toaz Ali, 30, Russel Mia,35, Mashur Raman,45, Zakir hossain,40, Azizul Islam, Rafikul Islam, 35, Russel Hossain, 27, and Russel Hossain Hira.
A team of RAB-1 conducted a drive at Balibhodro Bus Stand under Ashulia Police Station and detained them where they were hijacking. The RAB team also recovered a cell phone, some cash money, eye drop and knives from their possession.
Later, RAB-1 filed a case against them with Ashulia Police Station.
They were also accused in several cases with Savar and Ashulia Police Stations, said Azharul Islam, sub-inspector of Ashulia Police Station.
It was known on primary interrogation that they would often looted people's goods through hijacking and eye dropping on Nabinagar-Chandra and Abdullahpur-Baipail highways.
The detainees were sent before the court seeking 5-day remand on Tuesday noon, the SI added.
